Passive income does not happen without doing some sort of work. It does, however, mean that you usually do the work once, with small updates now and then, and make money for that work over and over again. A truly good example of passive income is being a best-selling author. An author writes a book once, then markets and sells the book, over and over again until it's either out of date, or they're produced the next book to market and sell.
Often times those who make passive income use affiliates to help them make their sales. Affiliates are people who promote your product for you in exchange for a portion of sales. You provide them the tools such as graphics and marketing copy, and they promote your product or service through their blogs or other websites as well as email newsletters.
Passive income not only brings in a regular paydays, but it also brings in more prospective clients for your most lucrative and non passive income: your main services. The only way to stop trading hours for dollars is to establish multiple passive income programs. That's what makes information products the idea choice for professional advisers, consultants, and coaches (and just about anyone who educates others as part of their work).
Produce an Information Product
Your first step is to look through all the material you currently have and figure out if you can assemble it into a complete info product. You might need to fill in some missing pieces here and there to make it more complete, add some graphics, maybe some videos, charts, and put it into a slick format before you release it onto the market. However, it should not take you long if you simply repurpose the stuff you currently have into a new format.
Put The Information Product Into Multiple Formats
You do not have to sell the product in only one format. Add some personal training or consulting from you as an upsell or a cross-sell, and the product in all its type, for the most rewarding earnings of all.
For instance, maybe you developed an eBook that teaches your audience ways to get rid of some issue or pain. You can re-create the eBook into an eCourse that is sent out via email for a small monthly cost. Now you have an eBook and an eCourse. That eCourse can also be put on Udemy.com or other similar sites by changing it into a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover and some additional worksheets added. The eBook can be sold as an upsell to the eCourse or Udemy.com course.
Keep Going to Fully Develop Your Product Funnel
All of the above can be assembled together and sold as a bundle, or it could be included inside a membership website where members have access to the things you create for paying a small monthly fee. Information, group coaching inside a forum, plus individual help from you can be added for additional passive revenue at higher price levels.
As you can see, by simply repurposing your current information into new forms, you contribute to the value of your offers to your audience and increase your passive earnings as well as your non passive income by bringing in brand-new customers via your cheaper passive income programs to your more expensive one-to-one programs.
